What is this service?

The Podiatry department provides a comprehensive foot care service.
Podiatrists (Chiropodists) diagnose and treat abnormalities of the lower limb.
The department offers treatment and gives professional advice on the prevention of foot problems and on proper care of the foot.
Podiatric Surgery is available for patients requiring investigations or surgical interventions for their foot problems. These patients are referred to one of our Consultants in Podiatric Surgery who head a team of experienced staff.
Procedures such as bunion joint surgery, correction of lesser toe deformity, ganglion excision, cysts and neuromas are performed under nerve block anaesthesia. This is followed by a full post-operative care plan.
